We've been meaning for awhile to take the kids to the Dallas Museum of Nature & Science. I haven't been there in about 10 years and to be honest, I remember it being kind of run down. However, we decided to give it a try with F&B and were pleasantly surprised!
We actually went ahead and bought the membership because we wanted to see the regular exhibits and the Spy special exhibit. The family membership came with reciprocal memberships at the Fort Worth Science Museum and the Heard Museum in McKinney, plus 4 Imax tickets, 4 planeterium tickets, 4 state fair tickets, Kids' Club at 6 other Dallas museums, and the ability to bring 1 guest with us. Since all of the other museums were on my field trip list this year, we went ahead with the membership.
F&B loved the spy exhibit, they've been playing spies for the last few months, so they were more than happy to get some practice in. I think we spend an hour and a half easily at the spy part. We also got to see the dinosaurs but opted out of the sand pit and really enjoyed the human body/DNA exhibit. We started to head down to the children's museum but it was almost closing time. On our way back up, we found a gravity exhibit with bubbles & airballs that we really could have spent more time with, so going back is high on my list!
We definitely have got to go back, once I figure out a good day & time. The kids had so much fun!

Go after lunch. By then the schools have left. I want to say after 1 it's usually pretty quiet.

ReplyDeleteWe love the Science Place! The Children's Museum is especially nice. I think one of Nick's fave exhibits is the dino dig. It's hard to drag him out of it.
