Activision Family Game Summit Gift Guide Ideas

The Activision Family Game Summit is one of my favorite events of the year.  Unlike many events, Acitivision reaches out to bloggers who don't live local to their summit by broadcasting it live online for everyone to watch.

This year, the celebrity guest host was Korie Robertson of Duck Dynasty, who shared tips on managing media with kids.  Key takeaways included:
  • Teaching kids that free play games aren't all free, in-app/in-game purchases take real money
  • Set limits on gaming time, the AAP recommends 2 hours or less of screen time
  • Korie mentioned that in her family, media is turned off during dinner, and electronics are powered down by 9pm.  I love this idea!
  • Turn game time into family time!  Many games offer multi-player options which promote family activity.
Thank you to Activision for our prize pack!
My TMNT loving boy was thrilled!!!

Other new Activision titles from the Summit, that we haven't tried, include:
Of those, we especially can't wait to try Wipeout.  We received a different Wipeout version from Acitivision last year and it's one of the most frequently played games at our house!

I received a gift pack from Activision for attending the virtual Family Game Summit.  All opinions expressed are my own.  Some links may be affiliates, thank you for helping keep us stocked in new books!
