Healthy Breakfast Pairings with Daisy Cottage Cheese

It's not always easy to find healthy, protein packed breakfasts when you're in a hurry.  With two kids, a dog, a husband, and teaching morning classes several times a week, it's even harder.  I also love to fit in my 30-min kick-boxing style workout in the mornings, which makes a protein-based breakfast even more important.


This is where Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese comes in. I'm trying out the Daisy difference in the mornings to get my day off to a better start.   Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese features just 3 ingredients--cultured skim milk, cream and salt, along with 13 grams of protein per 1/2 cup serving at only 110 calories!  It’s also an excellent source of protein, a good source of calcium, and gluten free.

What are my favorite cottage cheese pairings?  In the mornings, it's fruit for sure!  This week, I picked up fresh pineapple with is amazing with cottage cheese, but I'm also a fan of strawberries, peaches and pears.  Another top pick is a bit of fresh preserves--I have a blueberry-kiwi one a friend made for me that really hits the spot.  They're perfect for on the go breakfasts, just grab a recyclable container, a spoon, and go!  I sometimes pre-prep the servings so all I have to do is top it with fruit.


I also discovered some of the awesome Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese recipes on their website!  I'm really looking forward to trying the Chicken Alfredo Lasagna and the Cottage Egg Salad.  There are even dessert ideas--dark chocolate mousse????  Yes please!
