Faith's First Brownie Field Trip! (11/14)

Faith finally had her first official Brownie field trip this past weekend. There was a Scouting Day at Heritage Farmstead in Plano and we signed up to go. While the event sounded fun (and it was), I think Faith was most excited to finally get a patch for her vest!

There were over 40 stations set up for the girls to try various activities relating to life in the 1800s, we didn't even get close to half of them because there were so many awesome things to choose from. Faith really liked making the yarn dolls, the hayride, candle dipping, and the outdoor cooking methods (which also resulted in yummy sampling).

The girls got to go on a wagon ride (from left, Schuyler, Isabelle, Alyssa & Faith)

They tried their hand at various games & past times, including stilt walking & horseshoes!

They braided friendship bracelets (which helped towards a Try-It too)

Faith really like the candle dipping, we would both like to try it
when there is more time & less people.

Once home, I put her new special event patch on her vest.

And her first several Try-Its on the front. She's been hard at work to earn a few and already has completed:
Point, Click & Go
Computer Smarts
Girl Sports
Creative Composing
Space Explorer

The added advantage to homeschooling? We can tie some of these into our regular curriculum, especially the science & writing ones! :o)
