Lipton Tea Pitcher Packets #FamilyTeaTime

We've always been big iced tea drinkers, down to buying a special machine to make pitchers of tea at once.  I even experiment with all the flavors of tea bags to combine with black tea for new blends.  But making tea this way isn't quick, so trying out the new Lipton Tea & Honey Pitcher Packets sounded like a great plan.

Miss Faith and I headed off to Walmart to see if we could find them, and success!  The Pitcher Packets are available in three flavors--black tea with lemon, green tea with blackberry pomegranate, and green tea with mango pineapple.  We also discovered that there is a line of to-go tea sticks, that you can add to a single water bottle.  I'll definitely be picking those up for the husband for work.

Now, since we are displaced Texans, we generally feel that tea is a great drink with any meal, but in the interest of food pairings, meal time had to be more traditional southern fare.  We opted for pulled barbecue chicken, which always goes well with sweet tea.  While at Walmart, I picked up the ingredients for that and opted for the crockpot version (cook all day, shred, serve).  We hadn't had that in awhile and it tasted wonderful, especially with the tea.

Both the husband and I loved the lemon tea, it had a nice flavor to it without being overly sweet.  And, with only 5 calories per serving, it's a much better choice than sodas or over-sugaring regular tea!

Would we buy it again?  Probably, but I could see us really loving the to-go packets too, perfect for road trips up to the ski resort.  Check out our Google+ shop to see the whole trip.
