Great Green Activities for Kids this Summer

Looking for something fun and educational for the kids to do this summer?  We love using summertime to explore different interests while still learning.  The kids just finished attending Camp Invention in Colorado before we moved, and Ben is signed up for a few science based camps here in Washington.  Now that we are mostly unpacked, we're also looking for some fun at-home projects too.

A fun new idea we've just found is Think Earth, an award winning online green curriculum for kids.  Currently, it's available for grades K-3, but later this year will be available through 9th grade! Think Earth provides engaging activities, worksheets, and videos on things like natural resources, pollution and sustainability to help empower kids with behaviors that can make a difference to the planet, and generally help them learn about being good stewards of the earth.

Environmental education is vital as more than 7 billion people on Earth put pressure on both our natural and built systems. The Think Earth Environmental Education Foundation, a leading non-profit provider of environmental education for primary and secondary schools, is publishing its award-winning curriculum online. Parents and teachers can access the free Think Earth instructional units for about natural resources, pollution, sustainability, and more to help empower them with behaviors that can make a difference.
