Keystone Science School - Spring Into Adventure Camps

My happy place is nestled in the mountains near Keystone, Colorado.  My soul feels so much lighter when we get mountain time, and being there is almost a necessity to me.  Since moving to Colorado in 2011, my kids have fallen in love with Keystone too.

We are very very excited to be partnering with Keystone Science School this year, to share their amazing camp programs, which fit perfectly with our love of the mountains.  Spending a weekend or a week up in the mountains, enjoying the beautiful outdoors and learning more about nature and science?  Doesn't that sound like a dream come true?

Ben will be checking out their Spring into Adventure Camp in a couple of weeks, April 5 through 7, 2019.  It's a unique way to experience camp in a weekend at Keystone Science School.

Designed for ages 7 through 14, this could be a great first camp experience for your child.  It provides a way to prep for a longer summer camp in just a weekend, as well as a chance to reconnect with summer camp friends without waiting for summer.

The Spring into Adventure weekend is a scaled down version of a typical summer camp with all kinds of large group games, hiking, and other activities. During a winter session, campers will be able to cross-country ski, complete archery challenges, and snowshoe.  Ben is definitely looking forward to trying some different winter outdoor activities!  I also love that they offer a winter gear lending closet for campers.  While we have downhill ski gear, it's a relief to know he can borrow what else he might need.

Each weekend camp is features different science themes, many based on the current season and weather.  Previous topics have included:
  • Snow science, types of snow, the how and why of avalanches
  • Environmental science
  • Forest or aquatic ecology
  • Animal and plant habitats in our high alpine climate
  • Water management and conservation
  • Fire ecology and how forest fires relate to it

Is this an experience your kids would love too? Families can save $25 on registration for Spring into Adventure with the Coupon Code FC25.

Keystone Science Schools also offers scholarships for their summer programs. The deadline for the application is March 15, 2019 and an independent committee reviews applications. All are welcome to apply and decisions are made by April 5, 2019.

Keystone Science School is located in Keystone, Colorado, about an hour to an hour and a half from Denver, or about two and a half hours from Colorado Springs.  Campers also have the option of meeting in Morrison, Colorado for a shuttle to camp for an additional fee.

Disclosure: We are partnering with Keystone Science Schools.  My son will receive a weekend at their Spring into Adventure Camp in order for us to share more about their programming.  All opinions are my own.
